Exciting times ahead for the Indian Navy as it prepares to welcome a new powerhouse. On December 16, 2025, the first indigenous Diving Support Craft (DSC) named DSC A20 will be commissioned in Kochi, under the auspices of the Southern Naval Command. The event will be graced by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff Officer, Southern Naval Command. This vessel will significantly enhance the Navy’s capabilities in diving and underwater operations.
DSC A20 is the pioneering ship in a series of five vessels being crafted by Kolkata's esteemed Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL). This ship is meticulously designed for coastal areas, armed with state-of-the-art diving technology that meets the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Catamaran Hull Form: A dual-section design enhances the vessel's stability, increases deck area, and improves its sea-going performance.
Weight: Approximately 390 tons.
Design and Testing: Constructed as per the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) guidelines. Hydrodynamic analysis and model testing conducted at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam ensure peak performance.
Commissioning of DSC A20 marks a significant milestone in India's journey towards self-reliance and the Make in India initiative.
