The second accused in the Sultanpur robbery case, Anuj Pratap Singh, was killed in a police encounter. Questions had been raised about the encounter of Mangesh Yadav on September 5. Addressing this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the new Uttar Pradesh of new India, no one can breach the security of merchants. If anyone attempts it, they will face severe consequences.
Speaking in Mirzapur, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "This is the new UP of new India. In the new UP, there's security as well as respect. No one can compromise the safety of daughters. If anyone tries, they will face consequences. The security of merchants cannot be breached. No one can grab the land of farmers. No one can dare to destroy a poor person’s hut. If someone does, they will pay the price."
Parallel Governments Before 2017: CM
Taking a jab at the previous government, CM Yogi mentioned that before 2017, mafias ran parallel governments in UP. Mining mafias, forest mafias, animal mafias, and organized crime mafias ruled. When their convoys passed, common representatives felt threatened. The administration was compelled to salute them, and no one dared to challenge them.
Mercy Request: CM Yogi
Giving an example of today’s UP, the Chief Minister said, "Today, you see mafias begging for mercy. They are saying, ‘Spare us just once, sir. We’ll make a living pushing carts, but won’t bother anyone. We won’t occupy anyone’s property or shoot at merchants or passersby.’"
STF Encountered Anuj Pratap in Unnao
In connection with the robbery at a jeweler’s shop in Sultanpur, Anuj Pratap Singh was neutralized by STF early Monday. In Unnao district's Achalganj police station area, Anuj and his accomplice had a confrontation with the STF team. Anuj was shot by the STF while the other managed to escape. Anuj was rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead. Earlier, in connection with the same case, Mangesh Yadav had been neutralized by the STF.

Robbery in Sultanpur on August 28
On August 28, masked armed robbers struck the Om Ornaments shop in the dense marketplace of Sultanpur. The robbers forcefully held the shopkeeper and other people present hostage, executing the robbery at gunpoint. The jeweler reported that the robbers looted goods worth approximately two crores.
