In Sultanpur's Thatheri Bazaar, masked thieves armed with weapons carried out a grand daytime heist, stealing gold and silver worth two crores from a jewelry shop located just 500 meters from the police station. The perpetrators entered the shop with weapons and executed this large-scale robbery within 10 to 15 minutes, then fled on motorcycles, brandishing pistols.

Footage from the shop's CCTV captures the incident, showing five thieves executing the heist. Some wore helmets while others had their faces covered with cloth. They wielded pistols and absconded with the gold, silver jewelry, and cash.

Victim businessman Bharat Soni recounted to the police how as soon as the robbers entered the shop, they brandished their pistols, forcing everyone present to bow their heads. The robbers then went straight for the locker and cash box. Due to their heads being down, no one could get a good look at the robbers. The thieves also attempted to take the DVR of the CCTV cameras but the entire robbery was recorded. The police have confiscated the DVR for further investigation.

Jeweler Informs Police about 2 Crore Loot

According to a news agency, the jeweler reported a theft of jewelry worth two crores to the police. Witnesses at the scene said that five thieves arrived on two bikes. Three of them wore helmets, while two had their faces covered. Bharat Soni and his younger son were at the counter when two helmeted thieves arrived and brandished their pistols. They demanded that the jewelry and cash be put in bags. The robbers executed the heist and fled towards Prayagraj Highway on bikes within 10 minutes.

Upon receiving information about the incident, IG Praveen Kumar and SP Soman of Ayodhya Division promptly arrived at the scene. The IG stated that a dog squad and a forensic team were deployed. Five teams have been formed to apprehend the criminals, and they are confident that the robbers will soon be arrested and the stolen items recovered. The IG mentioned that the theft amount is being calculated and the police are working on initial leads.
