Every possible effort has been made. Traps have been set, cages installed, drones deployed, and firecrackers lit. But the wolves remain elusive. In the wolf-affected villages of Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, fear continues to linger. The police, forest department, and sharpshooters are patrolling day and night. Sometimes on foot, sometimes on bikes, and even on boats, they cover distances in search of wolves that could appear from anywhere at any time and be confronted.

A pack of wolves has been terrorizing about 35 villages in Bahraich for the past two months, threatening children's lives. The forest department, after several attempts, has managed to capture four out of six wolves, but two remain free. The situation has escalated to the point where the forest department is determined to capture these wolves, dead or alive, as their freedom means infringing on human freedom.

In such a scenario, a team from Aaj Tak visited the affected villages at midnight to assess the situation. Around 12:45 AM, the team arrived at Pipariya village in Bahraich. They discovered that the villagers had devised a new security measure — in a family of six, three members stay awake while the other three sleep, taking shifts to ensure safety.
