Anuj Pratap Singh, the notorious criminal involved in the Sultanpur robbery case, was neutralized by the STF and police team. Anuj was the main accused in the Sultanpur heist. The team disclosed a significant detail about Anuj before the encounter. They revealed that when the police went to arrest Anuj, he urged his accomplices to shoot the police team, declaring that they would not be spared if captured alive.
The assailants fired from a hidden spot, injuring Ravi Verma from the force. Subsequently, the STF retaliated, and Anuj was shot. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Notably, earlier, the STF had killed Mangesh Yadav, another participant in the Sultanpur robbery, in an encounter.
Anuj Pratap Singh had been on the run since the robbery. His father, Dharamraj Singh, criticized SP chief Akhilesh Yadav following Anuj's encounter, suggesting that Yadav's wishes were fulfilled with the Thakur's encounter, and the government would act as it pleased.

SP chief raised questions over Mangesh Yadav's encounter
Earlier, SP chief had strongly criticized the encounter where Mangesh Yadav was killed, accusing the STF of serious misconduct. He called Mangesh's encounter fake and alleged that the government targets people based on caste, claiming Mangesh was killed because he was a Yadav, while other accused in the robbery had been either wounded lightly or made to surrender because they were Thakurs.

According to the police, Anuj Pratap Singh was the first criminal to enter the jewelry showroom during the Sultanpur heist on August 28. Wearing a white shirt, Anuj threatened the shopkeeper Bharat Soni and his son with a pistol.

Three of the 14 criminals involved in this robbery are still at large. Among the five criminals who entered the showroom, Furkan, Arbaaz, and Ankit Yadav, who are on the run, have a bounty of one lakh each. Ankit has five cases against him, Arbaaz has three, and Furkan has two. Mangesh Yadav has already been neutralized.
Meanwhile, the gang leader Vipin Singh surrendered in Raebareli court. Vipin Singh, who had expressed fear of an encounter while speaking to the media, has multiple cases against him.
