As Navratri begins, the season of Ramlilas unfolds across the nation. Stages come alive with artists portraying the life of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram. In Ayodhya, the revered land known for the Ramjanmabhoomi Tirth, Navratri celebrations are in full swing. Monday marked the opening of Ayodhya's much-anticipated Ramlila. Notably known as a 'cinematic Ramlila', this event features prominent film stars and distinguished personalities from various fields who bring different characters to life.
The grand spectacle of Ayodhya's 'cinematic Ramlila' commenced at Ramkatha Park on Monday. Presented on a towering 120-foot stage with state-of-the-art 3D technology, this Ramlila captivated audiences from its dramatic opening narrative of Narad Muni's enchantment. The Narad Moh act was featured on the first day. According to a statement by the Uttar Pradesh government, the Ramlila will continue until October 2.
This cinematic version of Ramlila began during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Since then, it has garnered attention for its grandeur and innovative appeal, thanks in part to the participation of major film personalities in prominent roles.

Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan Gracing the Stage
In this year's Ramlila, actor Bindu Dara Singh portrays Lord Shiva, while MP Manoj Tiwari takes on Bali's role. Puneet Issar, known for his role as Duryodhan in BR Chopra's Mahabharat, plays Parshuram, and MP Ravi Kishan essays the character of Kevat. This year, Miss Universe India Manika Vishwakarma will be seen in the role of Goddess Sita, and actor Rahul Bhuchar will portray Lord Rama. Veteran actor Vijay Saxena will step into the role of Ravana.
Expressing the significance of the event, Malik stated that Ramlila is not just a religious festival but a powerful medium to convey Indian culture and values to the new generation. It also serves to boost tourism in Ayodhya. "Every evening, thousands of tourists flock to Ramkatha Park, with the event being broadcast live on multiple platforms. Last year alone, 470 million people watched it via television and online streams. This year's broadcast will air daily from 7 PM to 10 PM.

An Exceptional Ravana Effigy Burning
A major highlight of Ayodhya's Ramlila is the dramatic burning of the Ravana effigy. This year, a towering 240-foot Ravana effigy will be set ablaze, accompanied by the burning of 190-foot Meghnad and Kumbhakarna effigies. Subhash Malik, the founding president, revealed that a team of 60 artisans from four different states crafted these colossal effigies, blending traditional artistry with modern technology.
