The recent statement by Congress leader Manish Tiwari, highlighting the growing public rejection of authority in South and East Asia, has ignited a political controversy. The BJP has linked his statements to an indirect attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

In his social media post, Manish Tiwari discussed political upheavals in several Asian countries, citing the ousting of leaders like Sri Lanka's Gotabaya Rajapaksa in July 2023, Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh in July 2024, KP Sharma Oli in Nepal in September 2025, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the Philippines.

Commenting on these events, he wrote, "For Gen X, Y, Z, entitlement is no longer acceptable." He pointed to the growing resistance to dynastic politics and the public outrage fueled by social media trends.

However, the BJP quickly capitalized on Tiwari's statements by associating them with Rahul Gandhi, whom the party described as the 'biggest Nepo Kid in Indian politics.' BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya criticized on social media, saying, "Forget Gen-Z; even Congress veterans are tired of his politics. The revolt is now internal."

In response, Manish Tiwari dismissed this connection, saying, "Oh God, if only some people could move on with life." He emphasized that this discussion shouldn't be confined to the political tussle between Congress and BJP but should focus on the significant developments in South and East Asia.

Tiwari further mentioned that these trends could have profound impacts on national security and highlighted the importance of understanding the situation from the right perspective.

This uproar coincided with Rahul Gandhi's recent social media post, where he commended Indian Gen-Z and students for protecting the constitution and preventing alleged 'vote theft.'

Rahul Gandhi's post is significant as it came just days after youth-led protests toppled the government led by KP Sharma Oli in Nepal. The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to incite similar unrest in India and warned that the nation's youth stand firmly against dynastic politics and corruption.

Renowned BJP MP and Rahul Gandhi's vocal critic, Nishikant Dubey, stated, "Gen-Z is against dynastic politics. After Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, and Sonia, why would they tolerate Rahul? They are against corruption, why wouldn't they kick you out?" He further mentioned that Rahul Gandhi is inciting the country's youth and students. If Gen-Z's anger erupts, Congress MPs must be ready for the consequences.
