In Mumbai, Maharashtra, a notorious thief was arrested by the police for multiple house burglaries. According to the agency, a police officer said that a history-sheeter was arrested on Wednesday for stealing from 15 houses in Mahim Police Colony. He added that the accused Kamruddin Shaikh broke into the police quarters between 1 AM and 4 AM on Saturday, stealing silver idols worth 13,000 rupees.
The arrest was made based on CCTV footage. The officer revealed that Kamruddin was also wanted in about eight other burglary cases in Kurla, Antop Hill, and Dindoshi.

Mumbai police arrested 19-year-old Anurag Singh from Valsad, Gujarat. Anurag stole bikes from Mumbai and made videos. He uploaded these stolen bike screens to his YouTube and Instagram IDs. People who wanted to buy bikes contacted him via Instagram to make purchases, thinking he was a dealer of second-hand bikes. Anurag's YouTube channel had over 4000 followers, and each reel was viewed by thousands.
How Police Made the Arrest
Yash Kadam, a resident of Mumbai, had his Yamaha bike stolen on July 17, a case he reported to the Nagpada police station. One day, Yash's friend Harshil Choradia spotted a YouTube reel featuring the exact bike, with only a minor change in the number. They then contacted friends in Gujarat to approach Anurag. They paid an advance of 10,000 rupees to make the arrest.
The arrest underscores the effectiveness of surveillance and community reporting in curbing crime.
