During Holi, it’s common for beloved clothes to end up in the trash due to stains. But no more worries! Using simple at-home methods, you can clean your colored clothes. Let's explore effective tricks that even professional laundries use.

If you've accidentally stained your expensive clothes during Holi, first rinse them with cold water. Do not soak stained clothes in hot water. Always wash colored clothes under running cold water from the opposite side of the stain. This can immediately remove the bulk of the color.

Mix a bucket of cold water with a cup of white vinegar and a bit of liquid detergent. Soak the stained garment in it for about 30 minutes, and then wash normally. Vinegar helps break down the stain and fade the color.

Lemon and baking soda are common for stain removal and can be effective on color stains too. Sprinkle baking soda on stubborn stains and add a little lemon juice. Gently rub the fabric and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse in cold water. This method can work particularly well for white or light-colored cotton garments.

Alternatively, apply non-gel toothpaste on color-stained clothes and gently scrub with a brush. Let it sit on the fabric for some time, then wash and dry it normally. The toothpaste hack is particularly effective for small and lighter stains.

Utilizing these home remedies, you can easily clean stubborn Holi stains from your costly clothes. However, when drying clothes in the sun, make sure the stain is completely gone. Remaining stains can become more stubborn in sunlight.
