Palghar's quiet was shattered by a murder that sent shockwaves through the area. Police have arrested two individuals from Solapur and Dhule in connection with the case. Reports suggest the woman was in a relationship with a man who, over the pressures of marriage and property ownership, conspired with an accomplice leading to her murder. The authorities have initiated action against the accused.
According to officials, the headless body of the woman discovered in the Vaitarna River on February 7 posed an initial challenge in identification. A tattoo of the name 'Mamta' on her right arm and the rings on her fingers were crucial clues. Based on the jewelry traced back to a shop in Dhule, police were able to identify the victim as 32-year-old Mamta Pawara.
Further investigation led to arrests of 45-year-old Govind Yadav from Solapur and Mahesh Ravindra Badgujar from Dhule. Interrogations revealed that Mamta was pressuring Govind for marriage and to have properties signed over to her name, which subsequently became the motive for murder. The accused, Govind, plotted the murder with his associate Mahesh, resulting in the tragic demise of Mamta and their apprehension by police.
