Hyderabad police have apprehended Additional DCP Tirupathanna and Additional Superintendent of Police N Bhujanga Rao. They were serving as additional superintendents in the Special Intelligence Bureau and Intelligence department. They were detained late Saturday night.

These officers are accused of colluding with suspended DSP D Praneet Rao. Praneet Rao was arrested for erasing intelligence from electronic gadgets and allegedly phone tapping during the former BRS regime.

Struggling to Hide Their Criminal Involvement

Both officers have confessed that they “conspired with the already arrested D Praneet Kumar aka Praneet to conceal their involvement in the crime.” They have admitted to destroying public property to erase evidence, misusing their official positions, and unlawfully monitoring some private individuals as part of a conspiracy.

Praneet Rao's Arrest and Suspension

Praneet Rao was arrested on March 13 and was later suspended by the Telangana government. He's accused of developing unknown individuals' profiles, secretly surveilling them, and destroying computer systems and official data. Previously, he was charged with phone tapping activities against opposition party leaders.

'Criminal Breach of Trust' Complaint

In March, a complaint lodged by an additional superintendent of the SIB led to a case against him and others at the Panjagutta police station for criminal breach of trust, evidence disappearance, and criminal conspiracy.
