The monsoon session of Parliament was tumultuous. While 120 hours were scheduled for discussion in the Lok Sabha, only 37 hours were utilized, majorly focused on the Sindoor Operation. On the session's final day, an independent member protested in the Parliament complex, demanding salary cuts for MPs due to the deadlock.
Umesh Patel, an independent MP from the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, staged a protest on Thursday with a banner. He insisted that the costs incurred due to the halted session should be deducted from the MPs' salaries. The banner read, 'Apologize, both ruling and opposition parties, apologize.'
Patel stated, "I urge the government that if the House does not function, MPs should not receive salaries and other benefits." He added that the expenses of the session should also be recovered from MPs, questioning why the public should bear the costs when no session was conducted.

It's noteworthy that the Lok Sabha discussion was scheduled for 120 hours, but only 37 hours were utilized. More than two-thirds of the allocated time was lost to chaos. During this period, 14 bills were introduced, with 12 passed, mostly without discussion due to the clash. One bill was sent to a Select Committee and another to a Joint Parliament Committee (JPC).
