During the recent unrest in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, many were forced to abandon their homes, seeking refuge in the neighboring district of Malda. Fleeing the violence and fear, the residents began their migration, but as the situation improves, they are finding their way back home. Bengal Police ADGP Javed Shamim shared that under police cover, efforts are being made to facilitate their safe return.

Additional Director General (ADG) Javed Shamim explained, "Residents of several villages in Murshidabad have already returned. More people are expected to come back under the guidance and protection of the state police. Senior officers from West Bengal Police remain present in Murshidabad, overseeing the situation closely."

No Violent Incidents Post-Saturday!

ADG Shamim reported no new incidents of violence in Murshidabad since Saturday. He expressed hope that the situation would soon normalize completely. Efforts are being made diligently to bring back all those who were compelled to leave their homes during the unrest.

While the last 36 hours have remained peaceful, ADG highlighted that rumors are hindering the establishment of peace. "Rumor mongers are currently our greatest challenge," he noted. Senior officers from Bengal Police, including the DGP himself, are camped in Murshidabad, closely observing the situation. No major acts of violence have been recorded in the past 36 hours. He assured legal action against those responsible for the violence.
