Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP leader from West Bengal, has demanded an NIA investigation into the Murshidabad violence, claiming a loss of property worth 100 crore rupees. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he urged central government intervention, appreciating the swift deployment of central forces which, he claims, helped control the situation.

Meanwhile, the ADG of West Bengal Police stated that the situation in Murshidabad is gradually returning to normal. ADG (Law and Order) Javed Shamim noted that no new incidents have been reported since Saturday, expressing hope for a full return to normalcy soon. He stated that curbing rumors remains the biggest challenge.

Police Teams Camped in Murshidabad

Teams of senior police and administrative officials are camped in Murshidabad to maintain control. No serious incidents have been reported in the past 36 hours, and they assured legal actions against those responsible for the violence.

Sukantha Majumdar's Take on the Unrest

Responding to accusations from the Trinamool Congress, BJP West Bengal State President, Sukanta Majumdar, deemed the allegations baseless that the central government conspired with BSF to incite riots by allowing hooligans from Bangladesh. Majumdar stated that police stood as mute spectators while attacks on Hindus occurred. Initially, the police's reaction was slow, but now, like Dhoni, central forces are effectively controlling the situation.

150 Arrested in Connection with Violence

Violence erupted on Friday during protests against the new Waqf Act, leading to violent clashes in several areas of the district, resulting in three deaths. So far, police have arrested approximately 150 people in connection with the violence.
