MP News:
In the Raisen district's Bareilly tehsil, the Nayagaon bridge suddenly collapsed. This bridge, over 50 years old, had been deteriorating for many years. The incident has left 10 individuals injured, with one being severely injured and referred to Bhopal for treatment.
According to reports, the Nayagaon bridge on the Bareilly-Pipariya state highway suddenly broke on Monday morning. During this time, four people, along with their bikes, fell from the bridge.
A total of 10 individuals were injured in the accident, including 8 workers who were working underneath the bridge. One severely injured youth has been promptly referred to Bhopal, while the rest have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Upon receiving the news, administration officials rushed to the scene. The district's collector and SP are also heading to the site.
The main cause of the accident is said to be negligence in repairing the damaged bridge and improper construction practices. This 50-year-old bridge had been in disrepair for several years. The construction agency, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC), is alleged to have left the bridge with just a new road layer instead of building a new structure.
Furthermore, construction was being carried out under the active bridge with false work, which is believed to have contributed to the collapse. This indicates risky construction was being done below the operational bridge without halting traffic.
