Jhunjhunu: ASI's Rampage, Shopkeeper Struck Over 50 Times, CCTV Footage Viral

A disturbing video showcasing police brutality in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, is rapidly spreading across social media platforms. The incident occurred around 1 AM on the night of August 2nd, near the Jhunjhunu railway station. The footage reveals an ASI storming into a shop, unleashing a merciless attack on the shopkeeper with sticks. Following this, the SP took prompt action by suspending the accused officer.

According to sources, Nahargarh Singh, son of Mangalram, owns a shop outside the station. On the night of August 2nd, two young men visited the shop to charge their mobile phones. Although initially permitted, Nahargarh Singh later refused to charge their devices. Consequently, the youths exited the shop. Simultaneously, a police patrol vehicle passed by. One of the youths falsely reported to the police that he had been assaulted.

Police Officer Assaults Shopkeeper with Sticks

Riding in the patrol car was ASI Omprakash, stationed at the city police station. Without any inquiry, he barged into the shop and attacked Nahargarh Singh with sticks. Allegations state that he struck the shopkeeper over 50 times. In defense, Nahargarh Singh attempted to shield himself with a chair, which broke during the assault. During this period, several police officers stood outside the shop, witnessing the scene.

SP Orders Suspension of the Accused Officer

The entire altercation was captured by a CCTV camera inside the shop. Witnesses outside the shop also recorded the incident, which has since gone viral on social media. Following the exposure of this shocking incident, SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay has ordered the suspension of the accused ASI. The police are investigating the matter to ensure justice is served.
