Despite being well-educated with an M.A. in Political Science and a B.Ed from Gohana, Poonam married Naveen in 2019 and had a son, Shubham, in 2021. On paper, she was an ordinary, educated woman from a typical family but harbored a darkness that transformed her into a serial killer, unnoticed by relatives, neighbors, and family.

January 13, 2023:

The First Two Murders - 11-Year-Old Ishika and Poonam's Three-Year-Old Son Shubham.

The initial incident occurred in the village of Bhavd, Sonipat. Sister-in-law Pinky’s daughter, Ishika, visited their home. Ishika’s beauty agitated Poonam, leading her to push Ishika into a water tank and hold her head underwater. To avert suspicion, Poonam killed her own son, Shubham, creating the illusion of an accidental drowning while trying to save each other. The family dismissed it as a tragic accident.

August 18, 2025: The Third Murder - Jiyaa (10), Niece

Poonam, visiting her parental village Sewah, groomed niece Jiyaa to sleep by her side, teaching her bartering words with her aunt. At 2 am, Poonam awoke, leading the child to an animal shed where she drowned her in a water tank, arousing further suspicion from Jiyaa’s uncle. However, Poonam's mother threatened legal action if false accusations tarnished their reputation, and the case was again viewed as an accident.

December 1, 2025: The Fourth Murder - Vidhi (6), Sister-in-law’s Daughter

This murder was the most horrific. At Naultha village, a wedding day turned tragic for beautiful six-year-old Vidhi. After the wedding procession, the house sat empty. Spotting Vidhi on the stairs, Poonam followed, leading her to a water-filled tub in the storeroom, drowning her. Questioned later about her wet clothes, her different stories aroused doubt among women.
