In the aftermath of cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra and Kullu districts on Wednesday, devastating floods claimed the lives of two individuals, while reports indicate that around 7 to 10 people are missing. Officials have provided this information.
Emergency relief teams, district administration, and police personnel have reached Khaniyara village in Kangra district, where two bodies have been recovered. As per the authorities, they are yet to ascertain the total number of affected individuals.
Several Workers Swept Away by Torrential Waters
The Chief Minister's Office and the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra described the situation as 'serious, trending towards disaster'. It is reported that a power project was underway in the area, mostly employing workers, when abrupt heavy rains began, sweeping away multiple individuals with the strong currents.

Meanwhile, BJP National President J.P. Nadda expressed his condolences on the event, stating that the central and state government are fully supporting relief and rescue efforts.

Alert Issued Following Cloudburst in Kullu
A few hours prior to this incident, the Mandi district administration already had issued an alert following a cloudburst in Kullu district's Sainj Valley. They cautioned about potential water release from Pandoh Dam and advised locals and tourists to keep a safe distance from the banks of the Beas River.
