A sensational murder case has emerged from Hapur in Uttar Pradesh. Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a complaint that led to the registration of a murder charge against the wife. Since then, both the wife and her family have reportedly gone incognito, turning off their phones. The police are diligently investigating the wife, who is alleged to have shot her husband dead just three months after marriage. According to reports, 32-year-old Arish Ali from the village of Mohammadpur Rustampur in the Bahadurgarh police jurisdiction married Rahima from Bijnor's Syohara on April 25, 2025.

Threats of Divorce and Demand for Share

Arish's mother, Falknaz, accuses, "My only son Arish married Rahima, but she did not appear content with the marriage. She frequently quarreled with Arish and my daughter. Despite relatives and villagers’ efforts to intervene, she often demanded divorce and a share. On the night of August 7, around 12:50 AM, a gunshot was heard from Arish's room. I rushed over with my daughter, causing a bit of a ruckus to open the door, even calling neighbors. When Rahima eventually opened the door, we found Arish's bloodied body and a pistol on the dressing table. Neighbors promptly took him to Meerut, where doctors declared him dead.

Police Released the Daughter-in-law After Questioning

Falknaz alleges, "My son's murder was committed by Rahima, my daughter-in-law. Despite submitting three complaints at Bahadurgarh police station, the case wasn’t registered. Only after a complaint to the SP was our case registered on August 18. Yet, Inspector Manoj Balyan questioned Rahima and let her go. Since then, she’s been a fugitive. The police aren't acting against her.

Gunshot Heard in the Dead of Night

Arshad, a former village head and neighbor, reported, "Arish's marriage in April to a girl from Bijnor’s Syohara was troubled from the start. Due to our proximity, we were aware of Rahima’s harassment of Arish. On the late night of August 7-8, a gunshot was heard from Arish's home. Upon entering the room, he was found bleeding. Tragically, doctors declared him dead upon arrival in Meerut. Despite submitting complaints thrice at the police station, no case was registered until a complaint to the SP finally recorded it ten days post-incident on August 18, but Rahima, accused of murder, remains free.

Outrage Among Family and Villagers

The delay in Rahima’s arrest has sparked anger among both the victim's family and the villagers towards the police. Hundreds gathered at Arish’s residence and organized a candle march to the cemetery, demanding Rahima’s arrest and justice for Arish, holding placards in their hands.

CO Varun Mishra of Garhmukteshwar provided information by phone, indicating that a case has been registered based on the received complaint. The allegations are under investigation, with interrogation conducted on the deceased's wife. The case is based on evidence and will soon be resolved.
