Statements Issued from Both Sides...
The Afghan defense ministry reported counteractions along the disputed Durand Line in several provinces, claiming Afghan forces captured more than a dozen Pakistani army posts.
Pakistan dismissed these claims, labeling Afghanistan’s actions as unprovoked. Islamabad previously stated its operations targeted terrorist sites along the border.
The 2,611-kilometer-long Durand Line remains a contentious border unrecognized officially by Afghanistan, serving as a longstanding point of friction between the neighbors. Recent tensions have resulted in differing casualty figures from both sides. The situation remains unstable and independently verified details of damages from either party are not available.
