As the election results pour in, the projections from Uttar Pradesh (UP) are proving to be unexpectedly shocking. In UP, defying all predictions of the BJP, the SP is seen leading in over 30 seats. In contrast, Bihar maintains anticipated performances with NDA leading in about 33 seats. However, the estimations are most in favor of Chirag Paswan's party, LJP (Ram Vilas), showcasing an impressive 100% strike rate.

Rising above uncle, Chirag finds support

Within NDA, BJP contested 17 seats, JD(U) 16, LJP 5 along with one each from Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM and Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP. According to current trends, LJP boasts the highest strike rate, potentially winning all 5 contested seats. Chirag himself is seen leading from Hajipur, his father Ram Vilas Paswan's traditional seat. The BJP leads in 12, and JD(U) in 15 seats as per the trends.

If the trends hold true in final results, it is evident that Chirag is the true inheritor of the Lok Janshakti Party. During elections, Pashupati Paras relinquished his ministerial role and parted ways with NDA, as he failed to secure a seat from Bihar. The main contention between the uncle and nephew revolved around the Hajipur seat, which Chirag was determined not to relinquish.

Hajipur, a fight for rightful inheritance

Under the NDA banner, Pashupati Paras laid claim to the Hajipur seat, which Chirag was already set on claiming for himself. Hajipur is the same seat that Chirag's father, Ram Vilas Paswan, was elected as Lok Sabha MP for nine terms. Pashupati Paras won his first election from Hajipur in 2019 and was keen to contest from the same seat again. However, aligning with Chirag, NDA's decision appears to be validated by the poll results.

Chirag's party competed in Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui. Chirag himself has been an MP from Jamui and is now contesting from Hajipur. If LJP wins all five seats in Bihar, Chirag's stature will significantly rise, cementing him as a strong NDA ally. Additionally, the results will make it clear that Chirag is the rightful successor to Ram Vilas Paswan, negating Pashupati Paras' claims over the party.
