In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a policeman ended his own life with a gunshot. His fellow officers, alerted by the sound of the gunshot, found him in a pool of blood. He was hastily taken to the hospital, but it was too late. The doctors declared him deceased, causing upheaval in the department.

According to the police, on the evening of February 8, the 25-year-old policeman shot himself in the head, leading to his death. The deceased was Arun Yadav from Amroha district. Arun was assigned to duty at the Gularia Gauri Shankar Temple in the Sirauli area of Bareilly on the evening of Shivratri. Upon returning to his room after duty, he turned off his mobile phone and shot himself.

On hearing the shots, police and locals rushed to his room to find Arun Yadav wounded. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and then to the district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. It is reported that Arun Yadav used his rifle to shoot himself in the head.

The Superintendent of Police (Rural), Manush Parik, and other officials arrived at Sirauli police station and analyzed Arun Yadav’s mobile phone. They also spoke to his colleagues to deduce the possible reasons behind his suspected suicide. The police believe that Arun took his own life due to family reasons.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan stated efforts are underway to uncover the reasons behind Arun Yadav's suicide. His family is being contacted, and his call records are being examined. His body has been sent for post-mortem after a panchnama.
