'The issues ranging from exam paper leaks, irregularities at centers, shady exam management, to manipulation of grace marks, preferred centers, and suspicious top grades are not just about exam logistics. More importantly, it's a mental tragedy affecting not just the candidates but their parents too.'

Akhilesh Yadav has posed tough questions to the government regarding the NEET paper leak incident.

Students nationwide are questioning the National Testing Agency (NTA) over NEET exam result discrepancies, with thousands knocking on the Supreme Court's door seeking justice. Protests against NTA are erupting in multiple states, as opposition targets the central government over irregularities in the NEET exams.

'Who will guarantee the integrity of UP Police recruitment, ARO, and NEET re-exams?'

Akhilesh Yadav raised doubts about guarantees that no malpractice will recur in future re-examinations of NEET, UP Police Constable, and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) tests. He questioned the government's assurance against such irregularities during re-exams.

In his post on social media account 'X', he wrote, 'Even if tests like police recruitments, ARO, and NEET marred by corruption are canceled and retaken, who will guarantee that no scams will take place next time when the same government and system are in place? These frauds could just become another revenue stream for government-protected 'exam mafias'.'

'Government must view this crisis through a psychosocial lens'

Expressing concern over NEET examination fraud's impact on young aspirants and their parents, Akhilesh Yadav urged the government to consider the psychosocial aspect of this crisis. He further stated, 'Youth are especially delicate, and supporting them is already a big challenge for parents. When hope fades and the system collapses, plunging their children's future into darkness, how can they be supportive pillars? It's imperative for the government to view this issue through a psychosocial lens and shield youth-related matters from its pervasive corruption. This concerns the nation's future.'

Please note that NTA has decided to re-exam 1563 students after canceling their grace marks. The Supreme Court is set to hear the issue involving the paper leak and CBI investigation on July 8. Meanwhile, UP's CM Yogi Adityanath has assured that the UP Police Constable and ARO recruitment exams, which were canceled in February 2024 due to paper leaks, will be conducted again within six months.
