Anurag Thakur, a senior leader and member of parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's accusations of 'vote theft.' At a press conference held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, Thakur stated, 'When stringent identification was applied to ensure genuine votes and protect citizens' rights, Congress opposed it.'
He questioned why Congress seems intent on undermining the votes of the Indian people. 'Have Indian voters repeatedly rejected Congress, only for it to retreat to its vote bank of infiltrators?' he asked.
In a sharp rebuttal, Union Minister Anurag Thakur took aim at Congress and Rahul Gandhi, saying, 'They lose and yet blame the Election Commission (ECI) and the BJP. The dust was on their faces, yet they continued to clean the mirror. When some Congress leader claims Rahul Gandhi made a 'disastrous' move, I’d say it wasn't just disastrous, but a 'blunder.' They sowed confusion during the elections regarding the Constitution and are now spreading lies again. They have no remaining election issues.'
'Rae Bareli, Diamond Harbour...'
Thakur remarked, 'In Rae Bareli, Mohammed Kaif Khan is registered at multiple booths — numbers 83, 151, 218 — all under one house number. At polling station number 131 of house number 189, there are 47 voter IDs. In Bengal's Diamond Harbour, multiple religions of voters are registered at booth number 103, house number 0011.'
He further questioned how 47 voters could be registered at the same address in Rae Bareli, wondering why neither Rahul nor Sonia Gandhi noticed these anomalies.
'Rahul Gandhi ran for election twice, while Priyanka Gandhi ran once. I want to know how new voters were added in Wayanad,' he continued.'
Anurag Thakur claimed, 'In the Maharashtra elections, Congress alleged voter numbers were being inflated. The Congress party is insulting voters. Rahul Gandhi and his figures — falsehoods at best.'
He accused Congress of expelling their own Dalit leader in Karnataka. 'Only true Indians and bona fide citizens should vote. In Rae Bareli, individuals vote at 3-4 booths. In Diamond Harbour (West Bengal), Khurshid Alam consistently appears on the list, yet his father's name changes every time. How can there be 52 voters at the same location? Will Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi resign?' he challenged.
