Group Captain Shubhanashu Shukla of the Indian Air Force, who unfurled the Indian flag in space, has returned home. Late Sunday night, his plane landed at Delhi airport. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, ISRO scientists, student groups, and a large number of people gave him a grand welcome. Shubhanashu was accompanied by his wife Kamna Shukla and son.
As Shubhanashu arrived, Chief Minister Rekha and Minister Jitendra presented him with a bouquet and welcomed him to India. Those present cheered with slogans of 'Mother India' and applauded. The atmosphere outside the airport was highly energetic, with people waving the Indian flag and giving Shubhanashu a grand welcome.
In the coming days, Shubhanashu will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visit his home in Lucknow. On August 22-23, he will participate in a program organized on the occasion of National Space Day in Delhi.
