Even after nine days, the police remain baffled by the murder of businessman Rajendra Gupta and his family. The killer of five members of the Gupta family remains elusive. Based on suspicion, the police are on the lookout for Rajendra’s nephew, Vishal Gupta aka Vicky. In 1997, Rajendra was accused of killing Vicky’s parents and grandfather. Amidst all this, a handwritten note by the late Rajendra Gupta has surfaced, potentially adding a new dimension to the case.
Let’s explore what Rajendra penned in this revelatory note...
Rajendra Gupta was married twice. Following the accusations of being involved in the murder of his brother, sister-in-law, father, and two others in 1997, his first wife, who hails from Asansol, West Bengal, had moved to her parental home. Subsequently, Rajendra married Neetu, a woman from a Brahmin family living across from his home. Tragically, she and her three children were murdered in this horrific incident.
Now, a handwritten note from November 2016, penned by Rajendra Gupta, has emerged. In it, he seemingly defends his character as a straightforward and simple man, mentioning that his first marriage had officially ended in divorce. Strangely, many names and numbers along with astrologically significant charts were struck out in the notebook the note was found in.
Rumors suggest that
was contemplating a third marriage in 2016. At his advanced age, Rajendra seemed to hold dreams of a third marriage close to his heart. In the note, he allegedly refers to a girl's father affectionately as 'Uncle'. It raises suspicions that perhaps the notion of a new heir to Rajendra’s extensive wealth, or the entrance of yet another woman into his life, might have instigated someone to kill.
In his note, Rajendra writes, “Greetings Uncle, in a nutshell, I want to convey that you may not find someone as capable, diligent, truthful, and virtuous as me anywhere. I always search for deficiencies in myself, but none have surfaced until now. Conversing briefly over the phone gives limited insight; our conversation was nervous, and so I might have said things wrong.”
Further, Rajendra’s notes read, “My divorce has been finalized, which is true. My former wife has now remarried. Her family is very affluent, and I don’t have any financial obligations toward the children’s education; all is settled. Due to emotional ties, I do send them something occasionally so they don’t nurture hatred. The children reside with their mother, leaving me alone. I will do what your family suggests. Suitor calls keep coming, yet I insist on matching horoscopes before marriage, hence many apologies. Please don’t misunderstand me. I showed your daughter’s horoscope to my guru, who approved it. Your daughter’s marriage with me would ensure her a great life; marrying into the house of a king. I understand you worry about your daughter’s future as a father.”
Rajendra further writes, “It is my genuine request not to stop our conversations over the phone, do not block my number, engage in conversations always, only then you’ll slowly discover my truth and virtue. I want to clarify that I don’t indulge in any kind of addiction, not even tea.”
Interestingly, as the note continues on subsequent pages, Rajendra repeats the accounts. Here, he signs off as Rajendra Kumar Gupta. Following the reference to divorcing his first wife, he writes once more about her, saying she works in LIC and her newly wedded husband is affluent, holding a managerial position there. The marriage initiated by his grandmother without matching horoscopes led to troubles, including the husband facing issues like lawsuits due to unfavorable placements of harsh celestial bodies such as Mars, Saturn, Rahu, or the Sun in the partner's house in the horoscope.
It is to be noted that on November 5th (Tuesday),
area, Rajendra Gupta, along with his second wife Neetu, their two sons, and a daughter were shot dead. Today marks the ninth day since the shocking incident.
