Sex Racket Uncovered During Police Raid in Basti Hotel

In the district of Basti in Uttar Pradesh, a commotion unfolded at a hotel when police conducted a raid based on a tip-off from an informant. During the search, officers found individuals in compromising situations in every room. The Harraiya police, acting on information received that a sex racket had been operating for some time, carried out the raid under Deputy SP command, leading to the detention of 6 people. In the rooms, the police uncovered 6 mobile phones, 10 packs of condoms, and illegal substances.

The raid occurred at GC Palace Hotel located along NH 27 in Basti. During the operation, hotel owner Harishchandra Verma and four others were apprehended under suspicious circumstances. This hotel had been suspected of operating illegal activities for the last three months. Acting on a tip-off, CO Harraiya Sanjay Singh, along with Tehsildar Singh from Harraiya station and a female police team, conducted the raid, arresting half a dozen individuals in questionable conditions with girls. From the rooms, 6 mobile phones, 10 packs of condoms, and illicit tablets were seized by the police.

Deputy SP Sanjay Singh reported that among those arrested in the raid include hotel owner Harishchandra Verma and four others. The police apprehended young men and women from the hotel's rooms, from whom 6 mobile phones, 2050 rupees in cash, and 10 packs of condoms along with incriminating material were seized.

During the police investigation, it was revealed that the manager of GC Palace, Harishchandra Verma, used to summon girls from outside and offered them to clients for a fee ranging from 200 to 500 rupees per person. Police have registered a case against the accused under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and commenced legal actions. CO Harraiya stated that regular raids would continue at all hotels along the National Highway. Those involved in such illegal activities will not be let off under any circumstances.
