Mukhtar Ansari Death News:
Former MLA from Mau in Uttar Pradesh and mafia don Mukhtar Ansari passed away last Thursday due to a cardiac arrest. His body was handed over to his son Umar Ansari following the completion of postmortem at Banda Medical College. There is a high alert throughout Uttar Pradesh including Ghazipur and Mau following Mukhtar's death. Police have increased patrols across all districts. After his sudden illness at Banda Jail, Mukhtar was taken to Banda Medical College for treatment, where he died during the course of it.
Mukhtar Ansari, convicted of crimes such as murder and extortion, was born in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur district. His father's name was Subhanullah Ansari and mother's name was Begum Rabia. The Ansari family is recognized as a political family in Ghazipur. Mukhtar had been in jail for over 17 years. His grandfather Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari was a freedom fighter who had worked with Gandhi Ji and was the President of the Congress in 1926-27. Mukhtar's maternal grandfather Brigadier Mohammad Usman was awarded the Mahavir Chakra for his martyrdom in the 1947 war.
