Karnataka: BJP Leader Accused of Sexual Harassment by Woman, FIR Filed

In Karnataka, BJP leader and Hindutva activist Arun Kumar Puthila has been accused of sexual harassment by a 47-year-old woman. An FIR has been registered at the South Kannada Women Police Station under IPC sections 417, 354A, and 506. The incident allegedly took place in June 2023 at the Pai Vista Hotel in Bengaluru.

The woman has claimed that Puthila took pictures, selfies, and videos during the assault and later used them to blackmail her. Arun Kumar Puthila had made a name for himself as a rebel candidate against the BJP in the Puttur Assembly elections and later joined the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections.

Abduction and Rape of Young Woman in Udupi

In August of last month, a shocking incident unfolded in Udupi, Karnataka, where a girl was abducted and raped. Upon learning about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and began investigations. A case has been filed against the accused, and police are probing the matter.

According to reports, the incident took place in Karkala, Udupi. The victim had met a man named Altaf through Instagram. Altaf had invited the girl to meet him. He then took her into his car and allegedly raped her. As he was about to drop her off, local Hindu activists intercepted the car. The girl was reportedly found in a drugged state in the car.
