Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has called on the youth, students, and Gen-Z to unite in defense of democracy and the constitution. In a post on the social media platform X, he wrote that the youth, students, and Gen-Z of the country will save the constitution, protect democracy, and prevent vote tampering. 'I always stand with them,' he declared.
It should be noted that Rahul Gandhi has accused the Election Commission (EC) of halting the investigation into alleged vote deletions in Karnataka. The Congress party claims that the CID is repeatedly requesting necessary data but the commission is not sharing it. Rahul Gandhi labeled the Election Commission's response as an excuse, accusing Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajesh Kumar of protecting 'vote thieves'. He alleged that votes of Congress supporters are being removed in a systematic manner.
He further remarked that when our candidate from Aland caught the fraud, the local election officer filed an FIR. However, CEC halted the CID's investigation. In 18 months, CID penned 18 letters, yet no evidence was provided. Important information such as IP addresses, device ports, and OTPs were withheld.
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticized the EC, stating that there was a large-scale attempt to remove names from the voter list in the Aland assembly. Following a complaint by our candidate, the local EC officer filed an FIR. However, why is the investigation being halted when the commission itself acknowledged the irregularities and an FIR has been filed?
