Chaos erupted in the Dehat Kotwali area of Saharanpur on Saturday when a speeding car ran over a biker, causing fatal injuries. The victim was hastily taken to a hospital, where, despite efforts, he passed away. The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Sheetal.
Initially, the accident occurred during a frantic chase by Uttarakhand police, who were pursuing suspects in a speeding car. The pursuit extended into UP, and while attempting to apprehend the suspects, the police set up a barricade in the Sheikhpura Qadim area. In an audacious attempt to escape, the suspects reversed their car at high speed.

In the mayhem, biker Sheetal, approaching from behind, was unfortunately caught in the crossfire, struck by the car, leading to his untimely demise. Attempting a hasty escape, the accused mowed down Sheetal, fleeing the scene. Soon after, the Dehat Kotwali police arrived, rushing the grievously injured Sheetal to a district hospital, where he tragically passed away. The shock of the event sent the victim's family into turmoil.
City SP Vyom Bindal reported receiving information that a person had died after being run over by a car in the Sheikhpura Qadim area. Contacting the deceased's family, a formal complaint has been registered, leading to the arrest of both accused now in police custody. Meanwhile, the deceased's body has been sent for post-mortem.
