The survivor of the Unnao rape case has voiced deep concerns for her safety, requesting a move to a Congress-governed state to escape former BJP legislator Kuldeep Sengar. She stated that Sengar can 'reach anywhere' and that her life is in peril. In an interview with India Today, the survivor also criticized Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar for mocking her protest held in Delhi.
The case grabbed the headlines once again when the Delhi High Court recently temporarily suspended Sengar's life sentence. Nonetheless, Sengar remains in jail due to a 10-year sentence linked to the death of the survivor’s father during his arrest.
On Wednesday, the survivor and her mother protested at India Gate and met Congress MPs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. She shared that Rahul Gandhi took her safety concerns seriously and assured her of appointing a senior lawyer to fight in the Supreme Court, also urging meetings with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
The survivor stated, "I endured everything to save my life – I was raped, my father was murdered, and a conspiracy was hatched against me in 2019. I live in constant fear that Sengar can reach anywhere and might kill me."

She also revealed that her husband has become unemployed, making it difficult to care for their two small children.
This case first gained attention in 2018 when the survivor attempted self-immolation outside the residence of Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yet, her struggle for justice continues, with a pressing need for family security.
