From the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh comes a heart-wrenching story. A man took his own life on Friday by hanging. Tragically, he was the father of a six-year-old girl who was assaulted on October 21. The community is engulfed in shock.
Additional SP Sunil Kumar Singh shared that a young man in Khukhundu police station area has died by hanging. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and sent the body for an autopsy. Legal proceedings have initiated. It is reported that before taking his life, the deceased allegedly attacked the accused's private parts with a knife.
Father of the rape victim commits suicide
As per the information, the deceased, Rambabu Yadav, lived with his friend in a rented house. While he worked as a laborer, his friend was employed with an orchestra. On the night of October 21, the deceased's six-year-old daughter was with him, while his wife stayed in the village. Her cries were heard in the dead of night, revealing a horrific sight: Rambabu was assaulting his friend's daughter.
In rage, the deceased attacked the accused with a knife and informed the police. The accused was detained and admitted to a hospital, with a case registered under the POCSO Act. During hospital treatment, he claimed to the media that he and his friend are homosexuals and the rape accusation is false. The accused, Rambabu, was hospitalized at Maharishi Deoraha Baba Medical College.
Police have registered a case and started the investigation
Ever since the rape incident, the father has been in depression. His wife went to her maternal home, leaving him with their daughter in the village. On Friday, everything followed routine until around 11 AM, when he was found hanging lifeless in his room. Police and forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and further action will proceed following the report.
