A tragic event in Bhagadi village of Faridkot, Punjab, plunged the entire community into mourning. Families and villagers were joyously celebrating the upcoming wedding of Pooja during the ladies’ song and dance night when suddenly her health declined. She was rushed to the local government hospital by the family, where she was declared dead.
The deceased, Pooja was just 20 years old and her wedding was scheduled for October 24 with a young man working in Dubai. The marriage was arranged with mutual consent from both families. Pooja’s father, Harjinder Singh, had gathered approximately 5 lakh rupees with the help of relatives and villagers to ensure nothing was lacking for the wedding. He recounted that Pooja was very excited about her wedding plans and was preparing everything with her brother.

Pooja’s sudden passing shrouded the village and her home in mourning. The wedding sweets and arrangements lie untouched in a room, not daring to be seen by anyone. Her parents and family members are in shock, unable to do anything but cry. Villager Pooran Singh Dhillon expressed that the entire village is grieving and called upon the authorities to provide the family with financial and emotional support.

Meanwhile, on Friday and Saturday, no fires were lit in Pooja’s house, and a wave of grief swept across the village. Faridkot’s incident serves as a reminder of life's unpredictability, where sorrow can knock amid joyous times. This mishap turned celebration into mourning, leaving the family in profound grief.
