A chilling and dreadful story has emerged from Nagarkurnool, Telangana. In an act of extreme violence, a man brutally ended the lives of his own three innocent children before setting their bodies on fire and taking his own life.
Left Home with Children After Argument
Authorities suspect marital discord as the primary catalyst for this crime. Gutta Venkateshwarlu, a fertilizer shop owner from Peddaboyapalli village in Prakasam district, had a domestic argument with his wife Deepika around August 30, 2025. Distraught, he purportedly fled with his three children—8-year-old Mokshitha, 6-year-old Varshini, and 4-year-old Shivadharma—on his motorcycle in the direction of Srisailam.
Killed Two Children That Same Night
On that fateful night, Venkateshwarlu is believed to have first killed his two younger children, Varshini and Shivadharma, near Suryatanda in the Uppunuthala mandal by setting them on fire. He then allegedly murdered his eldest daughter, Mokshitha, near Tandra in Achampet. After the heinous acts, Venkateshwarlu consumed pesticide purchased in Achampet. His body was discovered by the police at Burakunta in Velavaldanda mandal after being alerted by locals.
Secrets Unveiled Through CCTV Footage
With the help of CCTV footage, police tracked the man's journey on the Hyderabad-Srisailam highway, showing him traveling with his children on a two-wheeler. Investigators recovered burned remains of the children from different locations along the route, confirming each tragic scene.
Family Discord May Be the Cause
Officials surmise that family strife and emotional turmoil may have led the man to commit such an unfathomable act. The Veladanda police registered a case following a complaint lodged by Venkateshwarlu's brother, Mallikarjuna Rao. Further investigations, including autopsies and forensic analyses, are ongoing to determine the ultimate causes of death and underlying motives of this tragedy.
