Long-stalled diplomatic talks between Israel and Syria have resumed once again. As per the Israeli Prime Minister's office, this dialogue was conducted with the backing of the United States and aligns with President Donald Trump's vision for peace in the Middle East.

An official statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office on Tuesday evening highlighted the renewal of diplomatic conversations between Israel and Syria after several months, facilitated by US support.

According to PMO, these discussions form part of President Donald Trump’s strategy to promote peace in the Middle East. Throughout the dialogue, Israel emphasized its commitment to safeguarding its citizens and addressing any threats near its borders.

Israel reiterated its commitment to fostering regional stability and security. Additionally, there was mutual consent on the importance of advancing economic cooperation for the benefit of both nations.

The PMO statement noted that the diplomatic dialogue is expected to continue, focusing on advancing shared objectives and ensuring the safety of the Druze minority community residing in Syria.

This initiative comes at a time when security conditions in the Middle East remain sensitive. Therefore, the restoration of dialogue between Israel and Syria is seen as a vital step towards regional stability.

According to a Times of Israel report, during Tuesday's second day of talks in Paris, agreements were reached to create a specialized mechanism for reducing tensions, enhancing diplomacy, and easing business opportunities between the two countries. This announcement came from a joint statement released by Israel, Syria, and the United States, published by Washington.

The dialogues that began on Monday were the first within a span of about two months. As a result of these talks, a Joint Fusion Mechanism was decided upon, intended as a dedicated communication cell under American supervision. Its goals include sharing intelligence, reducing military tension, facilitating diplomatic contacts, and creating business opportunities with quick and ongoing coordination.

This mechanism will also be used to swiftly resolve mutual disputes.

This Paris round marked the third series of discussions between the two rival nations, though France was not part of the conversations. Earlier, a senior Israeli official described the talks in Paris to the Times of Israel as constructive and significant. The official stated that both parties agreed on establishing a working group to meet regularly and continuously.

In a statement to the Axios news site, an Israeli official acknowledged steps towards building trust, with both countries expressing a desire to reach a security agreement under President Donald Trump’s Middle East vision.

As reported by Channel 12 News, citing a Syrian source close to President Ahmed al-Sharaa's government, American pressure has facilitated a conducive environment for potential progress towards a security agreement with Israel.
