Comedian Sunil Pal has been the talk of the town lately. Recently, he exposed that he was held captive by kidnappers in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, for 24 hours. Sunil managed to escape with his life and returned home safely. After his return, he shared his ordeal. As the kidnapping case unfolded, an audio clip of Sunil Pal began trending, making it seem like Sunil orchestrated his own kidnapping. He has now shared the truth behind this clip.
Sunil Pal Speaks on the Viral Clip
Speaking with India Today/Aaj Tak about the viral clip, comedian Sunil Pal remarked, 'Yes, they sent me the clip too. The kidnappers cleverly asked questions to make me give certain answers. They threatened my life and my family's safety. Thus, I decided to stay silent about the kidnapping. However, the clip is now being used against me. I never spoke about the call due to fear. When a person has a gun to their head, they'll do anything. I did what I had to.'
Sunil further shared, 'I'm being accused of staging all this for my film's promotion. But my film was released in theaters a day before this incident. Why would I do this afterward? The call threatened me by claiming they were nearby. To protect my family, I agreed not to name anyone. However, I have decided to fight back and have informed the police of every threatening message and call I've received. These crafty individuals are trying to paint me in a bad light to escape justice.'
What Was in the Audio Clip?
As reported, this audio clip features a conversation between Sunil and his kidnappers. In it, Sunil is heard saying to the kidnappers, 'I haven't told anyone... when someone confronts you, you have to say something, right?' To which the kidnapper responds, 'Yes, sir, we did as told, but what you're doing is wrong, right?' Sunil replies, 'Don't worry, I haven't mentioned any names to anyone, nothing has come to anyone's notice. I haven’t filed any complaint with the police.'
Listening to Sunil, the kidnapper inquires, 'Haven't you informed your wife, brother? Didn't you involve her from the start? Your wife did all this? To which Sunil Pal responds, 'Social media and cyber cops caught wind of it, right? Friends, etc., reached out to cyber crime police. So, something had to be said, right?' The kidnapper responds, 'Okay, see what you wish to do. We're behind you, doing as you say. So, when will we meet?' Sunil replies, 'It's not the right time.'
