The BJP criticized Sukhbir Singh Badal's re-election, drawing a parallel with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Harjeet Grewal, BJP National Executive Member and Punjab spokesperson, said during an interview with Aaj Tak, 'Badal first resigned from the party and accepted his resignation. Later, he appointed himself as the president. Such actions are seen in Russia and North Korea by leaders like Kim Jong. It is unfortunate for Punjab and the century-old party. SAD has now turned into a family-run organization.'

Sukhbir Calls Criticisms a Conspiracy

After being re-elected, Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed gratitude towards the party leaders and workers. Sukhbir declared, 'SAD will never compromise the dignity of Khalsa Panth, Punjab, or the party. The party is determined to address gangsterism, drug mafia, and industrial development in the state.' He urged leaders who distanced themselves from the party to return.
