In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have triumphed with a significant breakthrough by thwarting a terrorist plot. Three suspected terrorists have been apprehended with weapons. Initial investigations suggest that these suspected terrorists were planning a major criminal act.

The arrests occurred in the Khanyar area of Srinagar, the capital of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Srinagar police, a team from the Khanyar police station was checking vehicles at Mamta Chowk, Kohnakhan, and Dal Gate.

During this routine check, the police team spotted a black Royal Enfield without a registration number, carrying three riders. Upon being stopped, the trio tried to flee, but the alert police quickly thwarted their escape and captured them on the spot.

Upon searching the suspects, the police found a country-made pistol and nine live cartridges. The initial investigation by the police suggests that the arrested suspects were plotting a major crime in the area, but their plans were foiled by the police just in time.

According to PTI news agency, the suspects have been identified as Shah Mutaib, son of Manzoor Ahmad Shah, and Kamran Hassan Shah, son of Ghulam Hassan Shah, both residents of Kulipora, Khanyar, and Mohammad Nadeem, son of Mohammad Yasin Salmani from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Mohammad Nadeem from Meerut had been residing in Kawah Mohalla, Khanyar. Cases have been filed against all three under the Arms Act, UAPA, and the Motor Vehicles Act. The Srinagar Police are now delving into the suspects' network, potential allies, and possible terrorist connections.
