After the voting on 121 seats in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, it's now time for the second phase. On November 11, the decision for 122 seats across 18 districts and the fate of 1,302 candidates will rest with the voters. This has led political parties to intensify their campaigning efforts for these seats.
The second phase includes seats bordering Uttar Pradesh in Bihar, as well as those in the Champaran Belt, Mithilanchal, and Seemanchal regions. While Nitish Kumar and Jitan Ram Manjhi's reputations were on the line in the first phase for NDA, the real test lies ahead for BJP in this phase.
The Grand Alliance, including RJD and Congress, faces challenges to prove their mettle, while Asaduddin Owaisi needs to maintain his foothold in Bihar. In 2020, Owaisi surprised everyone by winning in this very round.

In the 2020 elections for these seats, 66 were held by the Grand Alliance, while winning 50. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party won 5 seats, and BSP clinched one.
The BJP has the most seats at stake, with 42 to defend, while JDU successfully won only 20 last time. NDA ally Jitan Ram Manjhi's party won all four of its seats here. Within the Grand Alliance, RJD took 33 seats, whereas Congress managed only 11. CPI(ML) claimed 5 seats, while BSP won one. Besides, Owaisi's party secured five seats, with one independent winning.
From the points raised in the 2020 election outcome, phase two is a formidable test for NDA, particularly for BJP. While JDU was in the spotlight in the first phase, BJP and Jitan Ram Manjhi face the crucial test in this round. Furthermore, Chirag Paswan will have to reaffirm his strength in his traditional stronghold, with elections taking place in areas like Jamui.
