Sonbhadra: Devotees' Vehicle Crashes with Trailer, 4 Dead, 6 Injured

Near the Chhattisgarh border in the Babani region of Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, a Bolero and a trailer collided head-on with catastrophic impact. The crash resulted in the immediate death of four passengers in the Bolero and left six others with severe injuries. The injured were initially treated and then referred to the district hospital for further care.

Survivors of the incident revealed that all the passengers were residents of Sarangarh, Raipur in Chhattisgarh and were returning from a pilgrimage to the grand Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Unfortunately, their Bolero collided with an oncoming trailer. It is reported that the Bolero was on the wrong side of the road near the Chhattisgarh border, leading to the tragic accident.

Consequently, the Bolero was unrecognizably damaged, resulting in the instant death of four individuals at the scene, while six others were critically injured. The wounded were transported to the primary health center in Babani before being referred to the district hospital for intensive treatment.

In this unfortunate incident, the deceased include Lakshmibai (wife of Ramkumar), 30 years old, Anil Pradhan (Casualty), 37 years old, Rukmini Yadav (wife of Thakur Yadav), 56 years old, and Thakur Ram Yadav, 58 years old. The injured are Rajkumar Yadav, Deepa Devi Chakradhar, Abhishek Yadav, Ahan Yadav, Yogi Lal, Surendra Devi, and Harshit Yadav.

Additional SP Kalu Singh reported that the accident occurred around 7:30 PM. All injured are receiving medical attention, and an investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the deceased bodies have been sent for autopsy.
