After Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Ajmer in Rajasthan, a conspiracy to derail a freight train has surfaced in Solapur, Maharashtra. A large cement rock was found on the railway track about a kilometer from Kurdwadi station in the district. Thanks to the alertness of the loco pilot, the accident was averted. The senior section engineer of the railway has filed a complaint with the police station regarding this matter.

About 700 meters east of Kurdwadi railway station in Solapur district, a large cement rock was intentionally placed on the railway track near a signal point. Senior Section Engineer Kundan Kumar has lodged a complaint against unknown accused in this matter.

According to information received from the railway police, around 8:30 on Wednesday night, an unknown person placed a large cement rock on the track about 700 meters from Kurdwadi railway station in the east. During this time, loco pilot Riyaz Sheikh and JE Umesh Brother were bringing a tower wagon from Solapur to Kurdwadi for the maintenance of the electric railway's overhead wires. Seeing the rock on the track, they stopped the freight train about 200 meters away and informed the concerned railway officials. The police have registered a case in this matter and are conducting further investigations.

A Plot to Derail a Freight Train in Ajmer!

Earlier, a similar conspiracy to derail a freight train came to light in Ajmer, Rajasthan. On Sunday night in Sardhana, Ajmer, 70 kg cement blocks were placed on the railway track to derail a freight train. Fortunately, the train moved ahead, breaking through the cement blocks, and a major accident was avoided. An FIR was registered by the employees at the Mangaliyawas police station in this regard, and the police have initiated their investigation.

Cylinder Placed on Track to Blow Up Kalindi Express

Earlier in Kanpur, a conspiracy to derail the

surfaced. On the night of September 8, around 08:30, the

train, which was going from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, hit an LPG cylinder placed on the railway track, resulting in an explosion. This incident took place between Barrazupar and Bilhaur stations on the AnwarGanj-Kasganj railway line. An FIR has been registered in this case, and multiple agencies are investigating to uncover the conspiracy.

NIA Investigating Kanpur Incident

Investigation agencies suspect the involvement of the terrorist organization ISIS Khurasan Module in the conspiracy to blow up the Kalindi Express. Hence, the Intelligence Bureau (IB), National Investigation Agency (NIA), UP ATS, and several other agencies are stationed in Kanpur, investigating every aspect of the conspiracy. Although they have not found any significant clues yet, it is believed to be an attempt at a lone wolf attack.

Pakistani Terror Module Connection?

UP ATS suspects the hand of ISIS Khurasan Module in this incident. Members of this module radicalize themselves to carry out attacks. ATS sources say that terrorists of this module carry out such attacks. Similar attacks have occurred in Madhya Pradesh in 2017. A terrorist named Saifullah, linked to this module, was killed in an encounter in Lucknow, and an LPG cylinder and IED were recovered from him. This may involve not just radicals but also those executing attacks for money.

Suspected Lone Wolf Attack Plot

Several cases of targeting trains have surfaced over the past few days. This has led investigation agencies to suspect the involvement of terrorist organizations. Officials say that trains are being targeted in lone wolf attacks inspired by terrorist organizations. This includes radicals as well as criminals carrying out incidents for payment.

18 Attempts Since August

Since August, there have been around 18 attempts to derail trains over 40 days. In the past two years, there have been about 24 such attempts, causing damage to the railway. These incidents include placing LPG cylinders on the railway track in Kanpur, iron rods in Telangana, and wood on the railway line in Farrukhabad. Police and various agencies are investigating all these cases.

Sambharam Express Derailed in Kanpur

On the night of August 17, 22 coaches of the Sambharam Express were derailed on the Kanpur-Jhansi route along with the engine. This train was traveling from Varanasi to Ahmedabad. The affected train driver's statement indicated that the derailment happened because a boulder hit the engine, causing severe damage to the engine's cattle guard. Rail minister Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and UP police are investigating the incident. All evidences from the incident have been secured.
