Following the incident in Kanpur, a similar attempt to derail a freight train has emerged in Rajasthan. In Sardhana, Ajmer, two cement blocks were placed on the railway track to derailed a freight train. An FIR has been registered at the local police station regarding this. Previously, a plot to derail the Kalindi Express in Kanpur was uncovered, where an LPG cylinder was placed on the railway track. Petrol and explosives were also seized near the railway line.
According to information, unknown miscreants placed two cement blocks weighing around 70 kg on the DFC track passing through Mangaliyawas police station area in Ajmer late Sunday night, trying to derail the train. Fortunately, the train passed through breaking the cement blocks, and no major accident occurred.
Railway Employee Filed FIR
In connection with this, DFC employees Ravi and Vishwajeet lodged an FIR at the Mangaliyawas police station. The employees informed the police that on the night of September 8, around 10:30 PM, they received information about a cement block placed on the railway track. Upon inspection, they found a broken stone on the track. Another broken block was found a short distance away. The police have started their investigation regarding this incident.
Plot to Blow Up Kalindi Express in Kanpur
Earlier, a plot to blow up the Kalindi Express train with a blast came to light in Kanpur around 8:30 PM on Sunday night. The Kalindi Express, traveling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, collided with an LPG cylinder placed on the railway track and a loud noise was heard. Additionally, bottles filled with petrol and matches, along with explosives, were found at the site. This incident is being investigated from a terrorism angle.
22 Coaches of Sabarmati Express Derailed
Earlier, on the night of August 17, 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express (19168) heading from Kanpur to Jhansi derailed, including the engine. This train was en route from Varanasi to Ahmedabad. The train's driver reported that the accident occurred due to a boulder striking the engine, which severely bent the engine’s cattle guard. This incident is currently under investigation.
