In a recent address, Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor discussed the rumors of disagreements within his party due to his praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government's Operation Sindhur. He emphasized that national security should take precedence over political party interests.

Speaking in Kochi, Kerala, a student asked Tharoor about his relationship with the party leadership. He responded, "When individuals like me express that we respect our parties, it's because we hold certain values and beliefs that keep us aligned with them. However, in certain instances, we must collaborate with other parties for the sake of national security."

According to reports, Tharoor also stated that he stands firm on supporting the nation's armed forces and the government, as he believes it is the right course of action for the country.

Shashi Tharoor elaborated, "Now, parties have every right to disagree on the best approach to this ideal since many have criticized my stance. Despite recent events, I chose to support both our armed forces and government." Tharoor was speaking at a private function discussing 'Peace, Harmony, and National Development'.

'Need for Collaboration with Parties...'

During his speech, Tharoor further mentioned that unfortunately, in any democracy, politics is rooted in competition. "As a result, when individuals like me express our respect for our parties and mention the values and beliefs we uphold, misunderstandings can arise. Some factions may perceive our call for collaboration on national security as betrayal, which can escalate into significant issues."

When questioned about issues with the Congress high command, Tharoor clarified that he wasn't there to discuss politics or problems. He stressed, "I'm here to deliver two speeches on topics I believe garner respect and significance. The first covers development, the role of businesses, and peace and harmony. The second focuses on communal harmony and efforts to collectively advance progress. Throughout my 16 years in politics, inclusive development has been my mantra, and I firmly believe in inclusivity and development. I also believe in national security and the national interest."

Regarding recent voter survey controversies, Tharoor stated he was unsure who conducted such surveys. "Someone forwarded it to me, and I simply responded with a salute," he said. "I have nothing further to add and have made no commentary," he added.
