Impeachment Proposal Against Justice Verma
When quizzed about the impeachment proceedings against Justice Verma, Minister Rijiju emphasized that such a decision involves contributions from all political factions. Substantial amounts of cash, including burnt notes, were found at Justice Verma's residence, leading to persistent calls for impeachment by the opposition.
The minister declared that the government will bring forth an impeachment motion against Justice Verma in the house, backed by more than 100 MPs showing agreement through signatures. Although a timeline for the impeachment has not been specified, he confirmed its introduction is imminent.
