Bihar's infamous don from Buxar, Chandan Mishra, met his end in a hail of bullets at Patna's Paras Hospital. It was a well-orchestrated hit with exact timing and a predefined target. The first to enter the room and the last to leave among the six shooters was Tauseef Badshah. He is now identified as a gangster tied to paid killings.

This murder story of Chandan is more than just a contract killing. It begins with friendship, unraveling into a bloody enmity. The friendship was between Chandan Mishra and Sheru Singh, which turned lethal to the point Sheru handed his friend's contract to another don, Tauqeer Badshah, who regards himself as Bihar's top gangster and frequently boasts about it on social media.

On July 17, at 7:13 AM, as the rain subsided and the roads remained slick, two youths appeared on CCTV—one with a helmet, the other without. Moments later, four more youths joined them. The six congregated by the roadside, engaging in conversation. Precisely at 7:15 AM, they all entered the hospital through the OPD gate. One shooter stayed outside while the other five headed directly to the second floor. They knew their target was in private ward room number 209.

First a Hospital Murder, Then a Street Celebration!

The lock on room 209 was faulty; perhaps deliberately. The forward-most youth, unadorned by cap or helmet, peered through the door's glass, drew a pistol from his waist, and stepped in, followed by four others. Mere 10 seconds later, four shooters dashed out, while the first lingered for 36 seconds before casually exiting.

Post-shootout footage reveals a school-uniformed girl approaching, only to recoil when three youths on a bike, with the middle one brandishing a pistol, cross her path. It was a blatant celebration of their audacious success, unchecked by the fear of law enforcement.

Chandan's First Murder and Friendship with Sheru

From Bihar's Sonvarsha village in Buxar, Chandan Mishra, the only child of his parents, committed his first murder following a village skirmish using his father's licensed revolver. Being a minor, he was sent to a remand home for three years. Upon release, he bonded with Sheru Singh, and together, they formed a gang infamous for assassinations with bike-mounted drive-by shots to the head.

In 2011, their gang was responsible for eight murders. When businessman Rajendra Kesri refused extortion demands, he too fell victim on August 21, 2011. Both fled to Nepal only to be apprehended by Bihar police in Kolkata. Chandan received a life sentence and Sheru faced a death penalty in the Kesri murder case, later commuted to life imprisonment by the High Court.

Cracking of Friendship, Raging Enmity

While in prison, tensions brewed between Chandan and Sheru over money, suspicion, and jealousy. Each believed the other was financially deceitful. Doubts arose over who might be colluding with the police. Chandan disapproved of Sheru's bond with a family member. Moreover, Chandan's social media freedom from Beur jail rubbed Sheru the wrong way.

Sheru sensed the jail authorities were under Chandan's sway. Adding to his frustrations, one by one, Sheru's gang members succumbed to police encounters, while Chandan's seemed untouched. Sheru suspected Chandan of being an informant, turning doubt into animosity. When Chandan received a 15-day parole for piles treatment on July 3, Sheru concocted a plot to eliminate him.

Tauseef Badshah: A Name that Echoes Through the City!

Sheru reached out to Patna's infamous contract killer Tauseef Badshah via Sonu Shooter. Tauseef, self-proclaimed Robin Hood on social media, prides himself on his notoriety, claiming newspapers do the talking for him. He is now identified as the mastermind of this shootout. Sources reveal the plan was finalized upon Chandan's hospital admittance on July 15, with Tauseef fully informed of hospital arrangements.

Suspicions abound whether Tauseef manipulated room 209's faulty lock or carried past animosity with Chandan beyond the contract. The STF has interrogated Sheru comprehensively in jail. Reports suggest Tauseef is already under police custody. All shooters, including Sonu, Aqib Malik, Mustaqeem alias Kalu, Balwant Singh alias Bhindi, and mastermind Tauseef, are identified. The sixth shooter is also known. Eyes are now on how soon the police completely clamp down on this gang.
