The national capital, Delhi, is all set for Republic Day on January 26th, with extensive preparations underway. The Delhi Police have arranged for a six-tier security setup. Specifically, 15,000 personnel are dedicated to guarding the Kartavya Path. Comprehensive CCTV surveillance ensures vigilance at every corner, supplemented by a sophisticated control room. More than 100 cameras equipped with AI technology have been strategically installed. The parade route has been fortified with tight security arrangements.
This multi-layered security arrangement includes vehicle checks, searches, and the deployment of approximately 15,000 police personnel.
What did the police say?
According to the agency, New Delhi's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Devesh Kumar Mahla, stated, "We have implemented a multi-layered security environment for January 26th. The arrangements include a six-tier check and search for vehicles. Video cameras, video analytics, and FRS (Facial Recognition Systems) are activated."
He further added that thousands of CCTV cameras have been placed at major points. The district police have deployed around 15,000 officers. There have been 8-9 briefings and rehearsals. The arrangements are nearly identical for January 26th and the Delhi elections. We are fully prepared and able to handle any emergency situation effectively."

Regarding VIP security, DCP Mahla explained that extra precautions are being taken for VIPs and foreign dignitaries attending the program. He noted, "Several locations have been designated for VIPs and foreign guests. Overall, approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend."
