Punjab Police have achieved a significant victory against terrorism and organized crime. With the help of central agencies, two suspects who transformed from gangsters to terrorists were nabbed during an inter-state operation in Mumbai. These individuals were operating criminal and terror activities from abroad, targeting Punjab.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav identified the arrested suspects as Sajan Masih and Manish Bedi. These individuals worked as operatives of the Pakistan and ISI-backed terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda and gangster Happy Pasian, who is currently detained in the United States. This operation marks a substantial action against organized crime.
Sharing insights on social media platform X, the DGP mentioned that both suspects were coordinating operations from several foreign locations, such as Dubai and Armenia, conspiring to execute terror and criminal activities in Punjab. The operation was executed based on intelligence inputs in coordination with central agencies.
The arrests took place in Mumbai. Sajan Masih hails from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, while Manish Bedi is from Amritsar. Initially based in Dubai, they later moved to Armenia and other locations, altering their bases occasionally. These individuals have been involved in various severe criminal activities.
Crimes include murder in Dera Baba Nanak and Batala, extortion, and grenade attacks in Amritsar. The DGP described these arrests as a remarkable achievement for Punjab Police. He also noted that efforts are underway to detain their associate, Shamsher alias Shera, who is coordinating terrorist activities from Armenia.
