Sharing India Today Magazine’s Cover
The notable highlight is President Trump's decision to share India Today Magazine's cover on his social media platform, Truth. Celebrating India Today’s 50th anniversary, the cover features Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Donald Trump. Titled 'Newsmakers of the Year 2025,' the cover depicts both leaders turned back-to-back, stirring curiosity over whether we will soon witness them shaking hands.
Nearly a year has passed since their last meeting at the White House in February. Over this period, a lot has changed, with many sharp exchanges and fluctuating relations.
Despite this, when questioned about India at Davos, President Trump stated that Prime Minister Modi is a good friend and hinted at an imminent fantastic deal with India. He also indicated plans to visit India.
By posting the India Today cover, Donald Trump is further solidifying the 'Mover and Shaker' characterization associated with him. On the cover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is positioned prominently as someone known for big moves, while Trump is seen as an international disrupter or shaker. Thus, by sharing this cover, Trump aligns himself with this image.

Additionally, Sergio Gor noted that before this, President Trump praised India's iconic landmark, India Gate, by posting its image and remarked, 'The beautiful India Gate. Ours will be the greatest of all!'
It should be noted that the last phone conversation between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump occurred on December 10 of last year. During this conversation, both leaders discussed tariffs. This was the third phone discussion about tariffs between the two countries.
