Uttar Pradesh News:
In the Kailashpuram Colony of Izzatnagar Police Station area, Bareilly, Jitendra Yadav's body was found hanging on January 26. Initially considered a suicide, the sensation escalated when a post-mortem confirmed strangulation as the cause of death. After thorough investigation, the police arrested the deceased's wife Jyoti, her father Kalicharan, and her mother Chameli. Interrogation revealed that a quarrel over losing money in online gambling led Jyoti to strangle her husband, and with her parental family's aid, they hung the body with a scarf to simulate suicide.
The False Suicide and the Revealing Condition of the Body
When police reached the crime scene, numerous questions arose. Jitendra's body hung from a ventilator, but his feet rested on a stool, and his tongue protruded. The forensic team quickly realized that suicide was impossible with feet resting on the stool.
Furthermore, call detail records (CDR) revealed that immediately after the murder, Jyoti phoned her parental family instead of reaching out to her in-laws or the police. Based on this suspicion, when the police intensified their inquiry, Jyoti confessed to her crime.
The Property Dispute and the Murder of a 9-Year Love Story
Jitendra and Jyoti married on November 25, 2025, after a 9-year courtship. Family members claimed that Jyoti, a conductor in the Roadways, pressured Jitendra to sell his ancestral property to buy a house and car in her name post-marriage. When her demands were not met, she threatened to entangle him in dowry harassment cases. On January 26, a dispute over losing 20,000 rupees in online gambling escalated to such an extent that Jyoti took Jitendra's life with her own hands.
